School Says no Baseball

Updated: Feb 26, 2024

Wednesday, June 7th's Frontier League Baseball game between the New Jersey Jackals and the Washington Wild Things canceled by Paterson's School system.

Remember being in school, and the higher ups in said school, would cancel your sporting events if it was raining, snowing, or some other type of natural occurrence that prevented the game from being played? Well, turns out, Professional Ball Players feel your pain as well.

On Wednesday, June 7th, 2023, The New Jersey Jackals had a game scheduled at home against the Washington Wild Things. well, on said Wednesday, Paterson School System (Paterson, NJ) banned any and all outdoor activities due to the air quality issues & warnings in the area, because of the wildfires currently happening in Canada.

Why does this debar affect the Frontier League Professional Baseball game? well, the Jackals stadium, Hinchliffe Stadium, is OWNED by Paterson's School system - therefore, they were not allowed to play at the stadium today, due to the outdoor activity ban.

The game is scheduled to be made up tomorrow, Thursday, June 8th, at 4:35 pm EDT.
